Kalmia Latifolia (Mountain Laurel)

Pink and white flowers that bloom in late spring and are among the deadliest on Earth. Most filled the eastern United States, and some native North American tribes used the leaves of the plant to commit suicide. The flower produces two types of poisons, andromedatoxin and arbutin. Andromedatoxin in small doses causes vomiting, salivation, watery eyes and nose, abdominal pain, and slowed breathing. About an hour after ingesting it, the ability to use muscles is lost, and eventually coma and death occurs. Even the honey from the bees that pollinate this flower retains all of the flower's toxic properties.
